Through a series of ongoing collaborative meetings, I photograph Jordan Wake , styled in a fusion of garments sourced from our own wardrobes. There's a deliberate choice to defy the conventional labels of menswear and womenswear, instead treating each garment as a gender-neutral entity. Rather than viewing fashion through a binary lens, we embrace the fluidity and versatility of clothing by rejecting the boundaries of a binary fashion perspective. Here, every piece becomes a conduit for self-expression.
Memory, and the intimacy of friendship are explored through the exchange of garments which blurs the lines between us, illuminating the interconnectedness of relationships. Ultimately, 'Beyond Threads' serves as a catalyst for redefining perceptions and practices in fashion. By curating the beauty of the clothing we already own, the project champions sustainability, creativity, and the transformative power of self-expression through style. It stands, as a heartfelt tribute to individuality.
